Some Thoughts From Soupermom

Hello Loyal Soup People!

Let’s cut right to it – these are challenging times. So I thought I’d send a special note with my thoughts:

– Many of us feel bewildered, helpless, and confused. But there is good news! We can wash our hands, wipe down surfaces, and take actions to keep ourselves healthy. Not only do these actions help keep us safe, but they can provide a sense of control – which is important. Remember – we aren’t completely helpless!

– Anxiety causes stress. Stress can weaken our immune system, and none of need that now. This is the time to double down on self care. Meditation, exercise, sleep, and healthy eating habits are key to keeping your immune system strong. View staying healthy as a service to the community! And remember, no problem – large or small – was ever solved through worrying!

– In this challenging time, there is positivity. It is truly inspiring to see communities come together to fight this virus. We understand that we are in this together. We cannot solve this alone. People are stepping up to help deliver food to those at risk. Neighbors are taking care of neighbors. Who knows what will come from this newfound sense of community?

Friends, I don’t know when, and I don’t quite know how, but I do know – this too shall pass. We will get through this. Together.

In the past week we’ve received quite a few questions – I’ve answered several below. In the meantime, I wish you good health, peace, and a whole lot of love.

Question: Can the soups be frozen?

Answer: Yes. If you subscribe to our Souper Meals program, the soups arrive frozen. Put them either in your refrigerator (they will last a month in there) or directly in your freezer.

Question: Are you going to put your delivery service on hold? Will Soupergirl still be able to cook?

Answer: Unless directed by local health authorities, we will continue to cook and deliver. We do not need to enter you home and can leave the soup outside your door. Please refrigerate or freeze the soup right away. And, because we source so much of our produce locally, we haven’t seen any disruptions in our supplies or food sources.

Question: Has Soupergirl taken extra precautions in the kitchen?

Answer: Yes. We recently passed a rigorous food safety audit with a score of 99.5%. We’ve added additional safety measures that include sanitizing all door handles, refrigerators, and other surfaces every hour.
