When it comes to food, we all know local is better — better for our health, for farmers, for the environment. And better for soup. Don’t forget soup!
What’s more?? According to a new study by the Ecological Society of America, just about everyone has the ability to source their food from local farms. Researchers found that as much as 90 percent of Americans could eat food grown within 100 miles of their home, and more than 80 percent of mouths could be fed with food grown within 50 miles! That’s a lot of mouths — and not a lot of miles!
